Two Phases of Treatment

This type of treatment is done in two phases: the first step is addressing issues before they become problems, and the second is treating problems after the child has grown older.

Two-phase orthodontic treatment is a unique process that encompasses tooth straightening and physical, facial changes. The major advantage of a two-phase treatment is that it maximizes the opportunity to accomplish the ideal healthy, functional, aesthetic result that will remain stable throughout your child’s life. The main goal is to reduce the need for intense orthodontic treatment in the future.

Traditional Metal Braces

These are the most common type of braces because they work really well and they can fix a wide array of orthodontic issues. Made of high-grade stainless steel, they utilize brackets and wires to straighten teeth. They’ve become increasingly smaller, more comfortable and more attractive.

With metal braces, you have the option of adding coloured elastics (rubber bands) for a unique smile. Ask our team about your customized braces treatment plan today!

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces.

Ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns.

While ceramic braces are visually less prominent, they do require greater attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts.

Lingual Braces

We’re one of the few practices around to offer lingual braces, which are the least visible of all of the orthodontic treatments. The brackets are placed on the back of the teeth on the tongue side so they can’t be seen at all when you smile. They’re completely customized to your mouth and they’re a great choice for older teens and adults.

Lingual braces are also a very reasonable option for athletes, models, actors/actresses and musicians who play wind instruments.

Why should I consider Invisalign®?

Invisalign is a teeth-straightening system that utilizes a series of clear, customizable aligners that fit into your mouth much like a mouthguard. They’re made from a smooth, flexible, BPA-free plastic material and since there’s no metal, wires or brackets, the system is supremely comfortable.

How does it work?

Invisalign offers the best of both worlds: High-tech innovation and the 100-year-old science of orthodontic appliances. Using a 3-D computer-generated model of your mouth, Dr. Gage will be able to map out your exact tooth movements. Based on his specifications, a series of aligners are created specifically for you. As you move through each new set, your teeth shift a little closer to their ideal, final positions.
